Announcing the MiVoice MiVote Initiative!

The MiVoice MiVote Voting and Elections Education Initiative advances opportunities and knowledge to inform, engage, and launch all PK-12 students and their communities into a lifelong civic participation.

In cooperation and collaboration with the Michigan Secretary of State and the Michigan Department of Education, the Michigan Center for Civic Education provides professional learning on voting, elections, and the new laws requiring schools to provide PRE-REGISTRATION information and opportunities (in addition to registration information and opportunities) per PA 258.

Together, we will work with educators and community members to enhance classroom and community practices and protocols to provide nonpartisan, challenging, and meaningful opportunities to engage in voting simulations, mock elections, public literacy, and so much more.

MCCE wants to work with you and your community to bring local, relevant players into the schools and provide practice in political dialogue. Our students are ready to engage, let us help prepare our educators to ensure classrooms have the necessary protocols to ensure a diversity of perspectives are both heard and understood.  Practice ways of honoring differences, establishing commonalities, and respecting diverse experiences. We will work together to name and acknowledge the opportunities and challenges in any classroom, district, and community in order to move forward to advance necessary civic education.
