Publicly reflect your organization’s commitment to civic education and engagement by becoming a MiCivics member. Celebrate and enhance your civic education curriculum, instruction, programming with tailored, targeted professional learning to meet your needs.
With each membership, 3 dedicated hours of virtual tailored professional learning is included. Examples of professional learning may include, but are not limited to:
Adapting curriculum and instruction to meet the revised state social studies standards, including adapting the C3 and Inquiry Frameworks
Civic education curriculum, programming, and career pipeline planning (K-12)
Establishing civic belonging and civic efficacy among students and faculty to enhance the whole child through social emotional learning (SEL)
Introducing and/or advancing interdisciplinary, student centered, and problem based learning anchored in civic education (PK-12)
Introducing and/or advancing We the People (2-12)
Introducing and/or advancing Mock Trial (6-12)
Introducing and/or advancing voting, voter outreach, and voter education curriculum and programs
Civic Dialogue – established practices and protocols for challenging classroom conversations (K-12)
Administrative coaching for the social studies classroom (K-12)
Incorporating and anchoring civics in elementary, middle, and/or high school education
For 2020-2021, the two introductory MiCivics Membership levels for learning organizations are:
Student Showcase and Competitions (Student Voice & PBL Programming)
2020-2021 (Virtual Student Programming) Entry fees waived for:
3 Hours of Tailored Curricular, Instructional, and/or Administrative Support
Community Celebration and Acknowledgment of Commitment to Civic Community

*For every 1 hour of face-to-face (virtual) is three hours of support – (1 hour of planning, 1 hour of guided support, 1 hour of follow up and reflection)

Mock Trial Teacher Coach
Mock Trial provides high school students with an opportunity to learn about the legal system and develop skills that will be beneficial to any future career choice.

High school students gain an impressive amount of knowledge about their government and history through this program. Their participation will make them better, more informed citizens down the road.
